Fitness and Community Classes

Arlington Massage and Wellness Center offers a variety of community and fitness classes in our "Big Room." The road to health and wellness most often starts with knowledge. The more you know about your body, the better you can take care of it.

Yin Yoga Class & Community Acupuncture

with Anne Reilly & Stacey Kent

Changes of seasons are times of transition. Yoga and acupuncture can help with centering, grounding, and support for the specific energy meridians that are often weakened or stressed during these transitional times. Join Stacey A. Kent (licensed acupuncturist and certified yoga instructor) and Anne Reilly (licensed massage therapist and certified yoga instructor) for this special fall-themed combination yin yoga class and community acupuncture session. We’ll talk a bit about yin yoga and Chinese medicine, lead you through a yin yoga class with a focus on the lung and large intestine meridians, and then you’ll receive acupuncture on those areas. You’ll leave this 2-hour class feeling wonderful, with information about how you can continue to support your body, mind, and energy system during the fall season with yoga, acupuncture, and your food choices.

If you’ve been meaning to try acupuncture but haven’t gotten around to scheduling a session, this class will be serve as a great introduction to acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Yin yoga is a very low-key practice, done sitting or lying down with props to support the body. It is very beginner-friendly, so no previous yoga experience is necessary for this class. Class size is limited to 10 people in order to ensure lots of personal attention from the instructors.

 Monday Night Yoga Flow

Yoga class every Monday evening at 7:30pm. Registration is encouraged but not required. Drop ins, welcome!

$12 per class, $40 for a 4 class pass

 

Wednesday Night Meditation Series

with Amy Hosenfeld

A 5 week guide to meditation with instructor Amy Hosenfeld, Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. Next session dates are Wednesdays September 13, 27,  (no class on September 20th) October 4, 11, and 18, 2017. Please pre-register online.  Payment may be submitted at the first class.

$50 for the series.

 This class would pair well with our Wednesday night Beginner Yoga Series, held Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm (same series dates). Please register for these classes separately.

 

 Wednesday Night Beginning Yoga Series

Pilates Plus for Singles or Doubles

with Cecile Smith

Join Cecile for private Pilates sessions designed for an individual or group of two. Sessions will focus on core work, kinetic chain mobilization, building muscle & bone strength, overcoming physical restrictions, reducing pain, and resolving injuries, improving posture, body awareness and self-care  strategies.  No previous experience needed.  Singles or Doubles sessions will allow participants to experience the Pilates machines not available in the class setting.  Online scheduling not available at this time.  Please email or call Cecile at 614-531-9820 or not.mainstream@yahoo.com for a complimentary trial session.
